Founder and Artistic Director, JoAnna Mendl Shaw, in collaboration with equestrian partners, have developed an innovative and informative approach to the coaching of equestrians, dancers and members of local communities. Taking anatomical information, movement analysis and performance training as taught to dancers, DWH has developed clinics that focus on alignment, skeletal and muscular connections, personal body assessments and injury prevention. Clinics offer dismounted warm-ups and exercises for strength and flexibility. Clinics also offer innovative movement imagery and information on movement dynamics. Working in tandem with professional dancers, the riders receive coaching on performance and work on phrases for new and innovative choreography.
